What We Delivered: Key Releases & Enhancements

March 2025

Automatic Translations

Automatic translation in action

We launched full support for automatic translation across participant responses, study instructions and task content, all directly within a study. Translations appear instantly in the platform and are also available in exports, including transcripts, discussions, subtitles and quantitative data.

As a result, research teams can run multilingual studies without managing separate language versions or relying on external translation workflows. Researchers can review and analyze responses in their preferred language, while still having access to the original participant input, ensuring the nuance and context of each response is preserved.

AI Analysis of Live Research

AI Analysis of Live Research

Ask AI, previously limited to asynchronous activities, now supports live video interviews and group chats with “verbatim context” for clarity. This update brought unified, AI-assisted insight extraction across all activity types, giving researchers a holistic view of both live and asynchronous data within the same workflow.

At the same time, live AI summaries and key takeaways were improved to better capture each meeting. Summaries now provide clearer context around the purpose, flow and contributors of a session, while filtering out details like small talk or technical issues. Key takeaways highlight the most meaningful insights, patterns and points of divergence, with both outputs adapting in depth and length to match the meeting.

Piping and Visibility Logic

Piping and Visibility Logic

This release focused on making study design both more powerful and easier to manage. Text Piping allows researchers to seamlessly resurface participants’ earlier responses in follow-up tasks, creating more personalized, conversational experiences while significantly reducing the effort required to program complex follow-ups.

Visibility Logic provides a flexible way to control which tasks participants see, based on their responses, segments, or progress. Researchers can create adaptive study flows that guide participants naturally through a study, ensuring every participant sees the right tasks at the right time.

Improved AI Summaries and Key Takeaways

Improved AI Summaries & Key Takeaways

Our AI-generated summaries received a major upgrade with more structured, narrative-style outputs. Insights are now grouped thematically, prioritized more clearly and easier to interpret.

Large studies that once required hours of manual synthesis can now be scanned, understood and presented in a fraction of the time, without sacrificing depth or nuance.

Ask AI: MultiProject Mode

Ask AI: MultiProject Mode

MultiProject Mode takes AI-powered analysis beyond individual studies, helping researchers uncover deeper insights across multiple projects in a single workflow. Teams can filter by one, several, or all studies directly from the Site Dashboard, making it simple to focus on the most relevant data.

Cross-study analysis lets teams identify patterns, compare markets and spot thematic outliers, while also building on insights from previous studies to guide new projects. It’s a valuable tool for teams managing ongoing studies, multi-wave projects, or research across multiple markets.

Participant Translations

Participant Translations

We improved the multilingual experience for participants, making it easier than ever for people speaking different languages to join the same study and engage with one another. Responses, comments and follow-ups are automatically translated into each participant’s preferred language, while the original text remains accessible for reference.

This ensures everyone can contribute fully and understand the conversation, creating a truly global research experience.

Consolidated Layouts for Excel Activity Transcripts

Consolidated Layouts for Excel Activity Transcripts

We introduced consolidated layouts for Excel activity transcript exports, grouping related participant responses into a single intuitive, readable format. This reduces the need for manual cleanup and makes transcripts easier to scan, analyze and share with stakeholders.

The result is cleaner exports that better reflect how researchers actually work with qualitative data outside the platform.

October 2025

Conversation Task

Conversation Task

One of our biggest releases of the year, the new Conversation Task brings fully AI-moderated interviews directly into Recollective. Researchers can easily tailor tone, style and objective, preview the interactions before launch and conduct these rich qualitative interviews at scale and in any language.

The task includes built-in identity protection, automatic summaries and full translation support, making it an efficient alternative to traditional moderated interviews while maintaining rich participant interaction.

December 2025

Ask AI: Predictive Mode

Ask AI Predictive Mode

Predictive Mode introduced forward-looking qualitative analysis, letting researchers ask hypothetical or future-oriented questions, with responses grounded in and drawing from existing study data.

Teams can now explore scenario-based insights, such as reactions to future product concepts or anticipated behavioural shifts, without needing to draft new questions or conduct additional fieldwork. It’s a new way to layer strategic thinking onto existing datasets.

Ask AI: Quality and Performance Improvements

Ask AI Quality & Performance Improvements

The year closed with updates focused on making Ask AI faster, clearer and more reliable. Behind-the-scenes improvements allow larger studies to be processed more efficiently, returning answers quickly without sacrificing depth.

Model upgrades for Standard Mode also improved answer quality and readability, while enhanced verbatim selection ensures citations more accurately reflect participant sentiment.

Standout Wins, Milestones & Learnings

  • AI at every stage: From asynchronous activities to live sessions and cross-project analysis, AI tools are now fully integrated into every part of research.
  • Global and multilingual reach: Automatic translations, multilingual UX and smarter task design have lowered barriers for international research.
  • Cross-study insights: MultiProject Mode enables learning across studies, transforming series or wave research into a connected, cumulative process.
  • Faster qualitative insights: Conversational Tasks and AI summaries allow teams to collect and interpret high-quality qualitative data more efficiently.
  • Forward-looking insights: Predictive Mode adds a new dimension to Ask AI, helping teams anticipate trends and explore hypothetical scenarios.

What These Updates Mean for Our Community

2025 has been about scaling research without compromise. By combining AI-driven workflows with intuitive design, we’ve helped researchers run studies that are faster, richer, more inclusive and more connected, while keeping the human insight that makes qualitative research powerful.

AI is no longer just a nice-to-have; it’s a true co-pilot in the research journey, assisting with analysis, moderating conversations and helping teams see the bigger picture across studies.

Thank you to all our customers, partners and internal teams for your feedback, ideas and trust. We can’t wait to continue this journey with you in 2026.
